Балтийское техно, от финских минимал-медитаций до питерского соматика, это, по большому счету, не совсем музыка. И даже не особая культура и не образ жизни: скорее, желание эту самую жизнь от какого-то определенного образа избавить. Недаром такой северный ритм лучше всего слушать там, где живым чувствуешь себя острее всего. В ожидании перемещения поездом или самолетом, в машине на пустынной снежной трассе или даже просто в лесу. «Canned Aurora» — плоть от плоти таких состояний. Этот альбом и родился в путешествиях, которые не каждый бы выдержал (а может, и пережил).

Кроме того, бит Sähköorkesteri интуитивно понятен и вне этих ассоциаций. Чеканя свой морозно-отрывистый саунд, он держит в уме кроме техно еще много всего. В «Canned Aurora» можно услышать лоу-файное электро, случайный поп-хаус и анемичную цифровую импровизацию сродни польскому электро-джазу. Пульс этой записи тревожен и темен, но также полон сияющих проблесков. Прекрасное сопровождение для созерцания зимних звезд, даже если на вашем небе нет полярной лазури.

From Finnish minimal meditations to Saint Petersburg’s Somatik, Baltic techno is not really a music. It’s not culture nor lifestyle, by and large. It’s rather the desire to shell life from particular style or image. No wonder the best way for listening to this Nordic rhythm is a time and place where you feel alive most acutely. During the waiting of train or jet, in the car on deserted snowy highway or simply in forest deep. “Canned Aurora” suits all these conditions perfectly; the very recording was born out from the journeys not everyone would have endured (or even got over).

This beat is intuitive beyond associations. Besides techno, Sähköorkesteri keeps a lot of things in his mind and hands when he mints his sound of frost and land’s edges. “Canned Aurora” contains lo-fi industrial electro moves, random pop house stirs and anemic digital improvisation close to Polish yass. The pulse of this tape is disquiet and dark, but also full of shining glimpses. A beautiful accompaniment for winter stargazing, even if there is no north-light in your sky.
